This course is intended to give you a general understanding of how to read news. The course is conducted in a coordinated organization over a two session period. During the course you will learn how to utilize your voice and abdominal area skilfully to convey a variety of emotional “reads” for radio and TV (as well as serious light, happy, light, educational, instructional edges), to develop the ability to “sight-read”, transforming composed words into “spoken in” English and to conduct yourself confidently and professionally in a news recording session. Television playback and auto-cue will give you a chance to see yourself in real life and to fine-tune your performance.

2 How to “sight-read” fluently.
3 How to adjust emotional gear between news stories.
4 How to read from an auto-cue.
5 How to sound compelling, authoritative and persuasive.
6 Breathing techniques to assist you keep cool when the pressure “heats up”.
7 Learn how to speed up or slow down, and how to use inflections and pauses to make what you sound more interesting.
8 How to improve your choice of words and pronunciation.
9 How to deliver a clear message and get the outcome you want.
Time of Lecture: Monday – Saturday (Flexible)
Duration: Six (6) Hours Per Week (Flexible)

Course Total Cost Fee: GH¢ 4000 (First six months GH¢ 2000 & Second six months GH¢ 2000)
Course Details: Theory during the week & Practicals over the weekend
